Ottawa Suitcase Suspect turns himself in

The first murder of the year for the Ottawa area was sadly one to hit the headlines all over Canada after a suitcase was discovered on a street side with a human leg hanging out of it.

Paul Cherry, a Montreal Gazette Crime Reporter, wrote in an article this afternoon that a suspect in his thirties is said to be in custody after calling the Ottawa RCMP on his own accord, so they could come pick him up.

The suspect in custody may be heading to court on Friday to face charges of either "murder or manslaughter". More information should be released pertaining to the identity of the victim and reasons why this horrific crime occurred as the trial unravels next week.

"...The body of the victim was found Thursday morning inside a suitcase that had been left outside next to a rooming house on de Bullion St., near the corner of Charlotte St. Lapointe said it appears the homicide was carried out in Montreal. The area where the suitcase was discovered is surrounded by various rooming house on de Bullion St. and close to a series of major hotels that line René Lévesque Blvd..."
