Your zodiac sign has not changed... It's all okay!

Is it just a sign? Or, can the galactic positioning of the solar system when we are born really play such a part in the person we each are, or become? Could the celestial placement of the planet, sun and moon at our specific time of birth have such a bearing on your personality? Are you trying to telling me that everyone born in the month of May will exhibit relatively the same basic traits? These all are ideas that many of us are led to believe. Does it really matter? Well, for the believers, Yes.

Could it be just a very great example of how strong the power of suggestion and persuasion can really be? Everyone has a different take on this topic. Some don’t care at all…

Would a person who does not follow this whole zodiac belief system thing, still exhibit the attributed traits the same as someone who perhaps believes in this organization of a predetermined set of characteristics?

My personal experience is, that generally, my base inherent traits are very much similar to those listed to my zodiac sign. However, as soon as I was old enough to read and comprehend, I was thoroughly intrigued by any information I could get my little hands on about my particular zodiac sign. Time and time again, I have noticed through my travels that often people born to the same month share the attributed traits associated to their shared sign. If you continue reading through the different descriptions of each zodiac sign though, most of them are really quite similar.

With the recent recognition of our thirteenth constellation,  Ophiuchus, and the wobbling effect that has taken place in our solar system, we are being told our whole belief system has also wobbled. Me personally… I know that I am still a lion, and will always be a lion! For those born recently, or in the future, it makes sense that they would follow suit with the wobble, so to speak, and take on the new changes.

What are your thoughts? Whether a sceptic or a believer, please feel free to share you thoughts below in the comments section.

Overtaken by a garden

What a year! I am happy it is over. I am looking forward to all that 2011 has in store for us. Sadly, I must report that news and current events have not been on the forefront of much interests lately. After looking back over the last year, and a lack of posts for Daily Headlinz, I am now considering the future and fate for this blog.

The last year brought with it many changes, all good, but changes that led me to some other online endeavors, the newest being another blog creation, A Growing Garden.

After spending much of 2010 playing in the mud and dirt of my gardens and enjoying every moment of it, I have had a hard time thinking about such topics as the news, and often depressing current events, going on in the world of today. So, it was time to bring this hidden passion of mine online! Please visit A Growing Garden and let me know what you think.

As for the fate of Daily Headlinz, the future is unknown… Let’s see what 2011 brings!

The positives and negatives of Facebook. What's your opinion?

With the release of The Social Network movie, conversations are bubbling about Facebook and other social networking sites, and the whole idea of how we, today communicate. Not everyone has fallen into the social spiderweb of Facebook, many worry they could not survive without it. Either way, Facebook and the use of the different social media sites, such as Twitter or MySpace all have a long list of positives and negatives, as everyone has their own opinion.

What is your view on the use of social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, or MySpace? Share your opinion by leaving a comment below.
Since the creation of Facebook, a world of internet users have curiously watched the evolution of this social networking empire. Many took to the trendy internet fad right from the start. What a great way to keep in contact with friends and family across the globe. Others were not so comfortable with the idea of sharing all this personal information online. After while, many internet users that may not have been originally interested in Facebook, joined simply to stay in touch with family and friends already using the site. Now, many users still remain sceptical and use the site only to keep in touch with their Facebook contacts. Others, seem to be almost taken over by the world of Facebook. As status updates flash like stock market tickers across profile pages, smart phones, and message screens, millions of users flock to this site everyday to keep up with the daily chatter of their social network...

Vancouver’s Marine Drive closed by massive sinkhole.

Wow! I was absolutely shocked after coming across this CBC News story this morning.

Gigantic sinkhole closes Vancouver Street.

A hole was found, late yesterday, in the middle of SE Marine Drive that was reported to be “…about nine metres wide, 14 metres long and nine metres deep…” Yahoo!News. That is an incredible amount of space when you think about it!

Asphalt, “…a 12-inch water main and a three-inch gas line…” Yahoo!News have all given way and a large area of pavement is still suspended without any substantial support underneath. Of course, the area has been closed and transportation rerouted.

Quite the story, quite the photos! Although, it is pretty common knowledge the the ground below most of the Lower Mainland is not of the most stable, this is still quite a shocking story for most!

A loaded rocket launcher, really?

You gotta check out this story I found this morning at the Vancouver Sun! A loaded rocket launcher? On the side of the road?

Odd, very odd! First off, its not like a rocket launcher is small... And secondly, why would someone just leave it, loaded, sitting on the side of a Vancouver Island roadway?

Check out the full story at The Vancouver Sun...

Facebook. The Addiction.

Facebook. Sounds so innocent, doesn’t it? Well, it may have begun as a wonderful new online social realm where user were given the ability to find and easily communicate with new and old friends alike, family members, and business contacts while uploading and sharing any photos or files they desired. Simply, users could now keep in touch with their online social and business networks, in a click of a few buttons. In the beginning, users were generally all alike in terms of why and how they used Facebook...

Is Facebook wasting your time?

How much of your time is spent Facebooking? Is it simply too convenient to avoid, or has it grown to become completely necessary in our online existence?
...When looking at the bare of bones of this, now world wide, social networking site, the basic idea or premise behind Facebook says convenience, a simple way of mass communication in a click of the Send button. Think of all the time saved not having to send out wedding invitations by hand, or Thank You notes, or Happy Birthdays cards. Think about the hours that you used to spend on the phone calling each and every one of your friends and family with good news, or bad news, or just saying hello. For some, Facebook seems to have almost replaced the telephone. In turn, is this convenience actually costing us some of those relationships that occur from more personal forms of communication like a phone call, a cup of coffee, or a real “Hug”?...
